The Challenge

Tangerine Inc., a small handmade accessories business, was growing fast — but DMs and order questions were piling up. The founder was spending hours answering repeat questions:

  • “Do you offer custom colors?”
  • “How long does shipping take?”
  • “Can I return if it doesn’t fit?”

As volume increased, it was clear we needed help handling basic support.

The Solution

I designed a simple AI chatbot using ChatGPT to automate customer conversations. It integrates with Tangerine’s website and responds instantly to FAQs — without sounding robotic.

What it can do:

  • Answer product questions (sizes, colors, materials)
  • Estimate shipping times by region
  • Share order status links (via Etsy or manual upload)
  • Direct users to the contact form if human help is needed

The tone is on-brand: friendly, clear, and helpful — like a real assistant, not a bot.

What I Led

  • Wrote the full knowledge base from scratch based on real customer questions
  • Trained the bot with a personality that reflects the brand’s tone
  • Set up fallback logic for tricky questions
  • Embedded the assistant on the website using a no-code tool
  • Collected early feedback from buyers and improved response accuracy

This project helped Tangerine scale support — without sacrificing the personal, boutique feel that makes the brand stand out.
